Kindling Sticks
Obtained from recycled timber
Our kindling is supplied by The
Pathway Workshop, which is a registered charity offering productive
employment and training for disadvantaged adults between 16 and 80
years of age. (People with physical disabilities and those with severe
learning impairment.) The Pathway Workshop is not supported financially
by Government funding so all income from sales goes directly to those
needing the support.
The Workshop provides practical work experience and the opportunity
to learn woodwork and machining skills delivered in a supportive and
non-threatening environment. The training also includes a wide range
of Life Skills. The aim is for employees to gain self-esteem and independence
and, if obtaining employment in the mainline job market, to be fully
equipped to enjoy it - and keep it!
In a fully equipped mill workshop using recycled timber originally
destined for landfill they build high quality garden furniture and
animal habitats - standard and bespoke. Our kindling comes from the
off cuts which ensures that waste is reduced to a minimum.
The kindling is supplied in bags holding approx 2.5 kg of dry wood.
